Endorsement Time

Today, I’d like to endorse a candidate for President of the United States of America. I’d like to endorse a candidate to carry their party’s mantel in November.

Today, I am endorsing…drum roll please…

HILLARY CLINTON to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.

Now that I have your attention, let me tell you why.

First, as a Republican, Hillary is the one candidate that can unite the Republican base. Obviously, it seems that none of the candidates running in the Republican primary can unite our base so we need someone who will bring Republicans together. We need someone who will energize us to vote. That person is Hillary Clinton.

Secondly, in order to win in November, the Republican nominee is going to need money. Obama and Hillary are raising money at a record pace. Republicans find themselves in unfamiliar territory. They almost always raise more money than Democrats. We need someone that will help open the pockets of Republican donors. That person is Hillary Clinton.

Thirdly, Obama scares me. His record is MUCH more liberal than Hillary Clinton (see this if you don’t believe me http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voterratings/ ). His message of hope is inspiring, his speeches are uplifting. The man could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves. But don’t let that fool you. This man is a sheep in wolves clothing. At least with Hillary, we know what we are getting. I view Obama’s message of hope as one thing. He’s hoping voters don’t see him for what he truly is.

Finally, Hillary is a polarizing figure. She still polls with an unfavorable of about 50%. Half of those polled don’t like her. She is well known. People have known her for years. That figure is not going to change. If anything it will go up.

Obama’s populist message is gaining momentum. The liberal media has not exposed him for his liberal views and policies. His rock star image and his Kennedy like campaign event scare me. Obama at the top of a Democratic ticket would be tough to beat. His message would give other Democrats around the country running for Governor, Senate, Congress or dog-catcher large coattails to run on.

This election year was trending negatively for Republicans anyhow. Unpopular President, unpopular war, mortgage crisis, unstable economy and $3.00 gasoline does not bold well for the party in charge. I believe a Democratic ticket with Obama at the top would be BIG trouble for Republican.

So tell your Democratic friends to vote for Hillary on Super Tuesday. She may be our only hope
