President Clinton was vintage Clinton. (Anyone catch what song the band played after Bubba spoke? "Addicted to Love." I kid you not...hope you all find that as funny and ironic as I do.)
Biden was vintage VP nominee attack dog.
Both gave very good speeches.
More to come later today...

Last night, Bill Clinton reminded Democrats why they love him and he reminded Republicans why we hate him. He is Obama, with the substance. He not only talks about hope and change, but he explains what they mean. If Obama could convey that, I think he'd be in a much better position.
Slick Willie will go down as one of the most brilliant politicans in my era.
Two points I will contend to his speech.
1. He compared Republican attacks on him in 92' to Republican attacks on Obama this year. In 92', Republicans said he was too young and too inexperienced. Here is the difference...and Bill knows it. At least Bill had been a Governor for 10 years. He had executive experience. The attacks were the same, but that's where the similarities end. Obama has 6 years experience as a State Senator and 2 years as a US Senator, oh and he was a community organizer. While admirable, it doesn't measure up to the experience that Bill Clinton had in 1992. I get what you were trying to do Bill, but it doesn't quite measure up.
2. Clinton made a comment about the US regaining is standing and respect in the world. Much like we were liked and respected during his administration. Need I remind the President that the World Trade Center was first attacked under his watch. Need I remind the President that two US Embassys in Afria were bombed under his watch. Need I remind the President that the USS Cole was bombed under his watch. In that time when radical Islamist were attacking American interests across the world, he did nothing. So being liked and respected during the Bill Clinton presidency got us nothing. Being liked and respected got us September 11th. And no, Clinton and Obama supporter, I'm not BLAMING Bill for September 11th. I'm merely making the point that while it would be nice to have everyone like us, I'm more concerned about the security of my family and our country. If we have to give up a couple of friends to make that happen, so be it.

As for Biden...look the bio video was touching. The intro by his son was powerful. I think Democrats can claim success because he stayed on message and he finished early. Something Biden is not exactly known for.
He attacked McCain, that's his job.
Please though...why does Senator Biden have to tell me how much he likes John McCain before ripping into everything he stands for. Look Joey, we get it, it's your job to tell us how bad McCain is, you don't have to tell us he's your friend too.
I thought that McCain's response to Biden's speech was spot on:
Joe Biden is right: We need more than a good soldier, we need a leader with the experience and judgment to serve as commander in chief from day one. That leader is John McCain. We need a leader who understands that you don’t vote against funding for troops in harms way. We need a leader who supports victory in Iraq, and doesn’t try to legislate failure. We need a leader who understands that when a democracy is invaded, the response is to stand by their side, not call on them to show restraint. On all these issues during this campaign Americans have seen with their own eyes what Joe Biden has repeatedly made clear – Barack Obama does not have the judgment or experience to be President of the United States.
Tonight is the night though. The Messiah ascends into Invesco Field/Mile High Stadium. Rumor has it that Obama is going to start things off tonight by feeding the crowd of 70,000. Evidently, a young boy is going to bring him 2 fish and 3 loaves of bread so Obama can multiply it and feed the masses. Following the speech, Obama will attend a post party where he will turn water into wine for delegates attending the convention.

Prepare to be inspired.
Fun drinking game for tonight. Take a drink everytime Obama says these words...hope, change, yes we can. And again, be responsible, you won't be able to drive after this.
