Auto Bailout Dies in the Senate

It's offical, the auto bailout died in the Senate tonight.

Evidently, the deal feel through when the United Auto Workers (UAW) refused to agree to a wage cut before their contract expired in 2011.

Obviously, Republicans are going to get blame for this, but the outrageous labor costs is part of the reason for the financial trouble. If they want taxpayers to sacrafice, it only seems fair that the UAW should be willing to give a little too.

While this is good news for taxpayers, keep in mind, the bailout of the financial institutions failed in its first bid, only to pass later.

Contact your Senators and encourage them to continue to stand firm against another taxpayer burdened bailout.
