Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his chief of staff John Harris were arrested Tuesday morning in Chicago on two counts each of federal corruption charges stemming from allegations Blagojevich was trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat to the highest bidder.
The arrest is part of a three-year probe of "pay-to-play politics" in the governor's administration. The criminal complaint by the FBI says each man was arrested on two charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery.
Another Obama friend/associate in trouble with the law. Why is it that the only Obama friends/associates we hear about are racist, anti-American or crooks?
Here's an interesting question, Blagojevich is still the Governor and technically it is still his job to name Obama's replacement. Surely, the people of Illinois will not allow this crook to name the replacment. Will Blagojevich still name the replacement? It wouldn't suprise me. Given Blagojevich was already under investigation for corruption, he was still 'ballsy' enough to sell this open seat to the higgest bidder, knowing the feds were already investigating him.
Blagojevich should resign IMMEDIATELY!
BUT
His attorney says he has no plans to resign.
If Blagojevich won't resign, then the Illinois legislature must take quick action to remove him from office.

Just read on Twitter that there is a report that Obama COS Rahm Emanuel is the whistleblower on Blogojevich. If that is true, it will certainly help from keeping Obama getting dragged into this nasty situation.
