Senator Reid: We don't have to smell the tourist now

Good old Senator Reid celebrated the opening of the Capitol's new visitor center by insulting the very people that paid for it...the citizens.

"My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true."

No Senator, what you smell is the sweat of hard working Americans spending their money to visit the people's house that you serve at their pleasure. OK, so we don't all get the perks and pleasures of air conditioned vehicles driven by a guy in a suit or underground trams so, God forbid, you don't have to walk to the Senate Chamber.

What you smell is what everyday Americans do to provide for their families so you can waste their money on criminals on Wall Street and at Freddie and Fannie. So you can waste their money bailing out three auto companies who have made bad decisions and run companies completely into the ground.

Sorry Senator, but that smell is not tourists visting OUR Capitol. That smell is the crap coming out of yours and every other politican's mouth claiming to be doing the people's business.
