"We're going to have to get tougher"

Michael Calderone posted a blog over at the Politico after President-elect Obama's press conference where he got a little smart with a reporter from the Chicago Tribune.

President-elect Obama is getting a little tired of answering the questions from the press about the Blagojevich scandal.

During today's press conference, President-elect Baracj Obama brushed off a question from Chicago Tribune reporter John McCormick about the Blagojevich scandal, and what interaction any advisers had with the Illinois governor.

"I don't want you to waste your question," Obama said.

McCormick asked another Blago-related question, and Obama said he wouldn't confirm a report in the Tribune from this weekend. Obama also said that the U.S. attorney's office asked his team to withhold an internal review until next week.

After a few attempts, the reporter finally followed up by asking who had the better jump shot: Obama or incoming education secretary Arne Duncan?

The article went on to say that after the press release, NBC Washington bureau chief Mark Whitaker said reporters have not been aggressive enough during Obama's post-election pressers.

"Our job is to hold him to account," Whitaker said, adding that he thinks "we're going to have to get tougher."

I find this so laughable and ironic. For the 19 months that Obama ran for President, the mainstream media didn't hold him to account for one thing. He got the largest free pass in presidential election history.

Now the press is wanting to hold the President-elect's feet to the fire and understandably, he doesn't like it.

This is the equivalent to letting a child get away with anything he/she wants until they turn 13 then the parents decide it's time to start disciplining their child so they won't be out of control. By that time, it's too late.

Same thing here, the press should have held Obama to account long before he was elected president. They have conditioned him to a free pass and that's what he expects.

Obama should expect this, but the mainstream media has nobody to blame but themselves. Obama is the monster they created.
