Good luck, Mr. President

Today is a day of celebration. Celebration for our democracy at work. The peaceful transfer of power from one person to another, from one party to another, is something that we take for granted and that many countries do not enjoy.

I voted for John McCain in November. I did so because I thought he was better qualified to lead our country during this very turbulent time. My guy lost, and President Barack Obama is now our new president.

There is very little on which I agree with our new president, however, on the pages of this blog I am going to show President Obama the respect in which so many did not give President George W. Bush.

I will talk about the policy disagreements that I have with our new President. I will NOT use this space to insult the man. I will NOT use this space to call him names. He is my President, our President, and the office demands and deserves our respect.

I wish President Obama the very best as he and his administration begin to work on the problems facing every American. However, I will be a vocal critic when I disagree with the President and his policies.

So President Obama, the real work begins and I hope and pray that the fears I had about you during the election are not realized. For the sake of me and my family, I hope that you're adminisration is successful.
